PHILADELPHIA – September 24, 2018 – Aelish Brooks, Controller and Director of Human Resources for The Good Life Companies, was named the 2018 CFO of the Year Rising Star by the Lehigh Valley Business Journal. The award ceremony was held at a special reception on September 12, 2018 at DeSales University.

The prestigious CFO of the Year awards program honors the Greater Lehigh Valley’s top financial executives at all levels who contribute the success of the region’s economic growth and stability. The 2018 winners were assessed and selected based on three criteria career achievements, impact of nominee’s contributions and leadership in other areas of management. The Rising Star category honors up-and-coming financial executives or CFOs with less than two years of service.

“I am very honored to be selected as the 2018 Lehigh Valley Business CFO Rising Star. To be recognized by Lehigh Valley Business as a member of this amazing group of successful business people is humbling. As the Controller and Director of Human Resources for The Good Life Companies, most recently, I have had the opportunity to help spearhead the planning, development and implementation of a 3 million dollar building project for our new financial and physical wellness national headquarters,” said Brooks. “Aelish has been in her current role for one full year but has been with our organization for five years. During her tenure, she has served in multi capacities from a transition team specialist, to a team lead, to an advisor onboarding specialist, and now Controller and Director of Human Resources. Aelish streamlined internal finance operations, found major cost reduction savings in renegotiating several contracts, implemented a new bill paying system, created and developed easy advisory fee compensation reports, and created an online portal for our advisors to access their compensation statements. She is an invaluable team member,” said Courtnie Nein The Good Life Companies Co-Founder and President.

The Good Life Companies, founded in 2012, is comprised of six entities. There is a fixed insurance agency, Good Life Insurance Associates, Good Life Financial Advisors, financial planning for families and individuals around the country, Good Life Advisor Systems, a service organization catered toward transitioning and supporting independent financial advisors, Good Life Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor, Good Life Fitness Institute, which takes an educational approach to fitness and Good Life Organics, adding the nutritional component to overall health and wellness.
